For my stop on the hop I’m putting up a copy of my sultry summer read….LUST ON THE ROCKS. It’s the story of a lady lawyer in Miami who knows what she wants from a man (and wants nothing more!).

One case away from partnership, Samantha Rawlings is forced to share her high-profile case with a sexy younger man, whose eyes are on a different prize.  In the best interests of her client, Sam opens the door to his strategy.  Turns out, a little too far…

Victor Marin has ulterior motives.  The defendant in her case holds the key to his revenge, and his last chance for justice.  But as he chases old demons, he uncovers a powerful woman with no inhibitions, one he wants to possess for himself.  But decidedly single, Sam wants no part.

Until Vic walks away.

She turned to him and he stopped.  In the distance, the sound of partygoers blended with the thumping base of music drifting far and wide.  Behind them, a large wave crashed.  Racing up the shore, it submerged them ankle deep, then glided across the wide expanse of sand as it made its retreat to the ocean.  Something changed.  The hairs on the back of her neck stood amidst goose bumps prickling her flesh.  Vic’s gaze cut through the gentle evening light as he touched her hair, ceasing its lash across her cheekbones.  Her pulse quickened.

“I had a nice time.”

“Me, too,” she uttered, her breathing reduced to wisps.

“I’m glad we’re working together.”

She could only nod, suspended by what came next.

“I like you, Sam.”

“Me, too,” she murmured, swept away by the current running between them.

“A lot.”

He skimmed the backs of his fingers along her temple, and every inch of her wanted to respond.  Balmy breeze, the heavy scent of ocean, romantic moonlight…  All he needed was to say the word.

“What are we going to do about it?” she asked, quieting her response, taming the exhilaration coursing through her.  She didn’t want to appear eager.  Interested, but not eager.

“I don’t know.”  He smiled.  “What I do know is I’m in a difficult position.”

Realization settled in, but she asked, “How so?”

Vic’s smile turned electric.  “My boss is sexier than any woman has a right to be.”

Careless to the schoolgirl grin lengthening across her face, she was captivated within the spotlight of his attention.  Which was crazy.  She was used to entertaining the hot-crackle-pop of new lovers, the tentative first beginnings, but for some reason, this one was different.

Not only snared, this one had her hooked but good.

“Go on…”

“Not only stunning, her mind runs circles around most others.  A trait I find incredibly appealing in a woman.”

Doubt pushed in.  Should they do this?  Getting close to Vic was something she had been considering for a long time, her desire compounded after the incident with Selena.

But today she had drawn him closer—professionally speaking—and sex could change everything.  What would it do to their relationship?  Would sex ruin it?

He inched closer and excitement sprinted through her.

Or sweeten it?

Thanks for stopping by my spot on the Hot & Deadly Blog Hop! Today we’re talking hot and deadly~ men! My current series, Ladd Springs, is full of mystery and drama and without giving away too much detail, I can assure you nothing like my favorite villain, Jason Bourne  (or is he the good guy?). Undercover, sought by his own government–the same government that turned him into an assassin–James Bourne and the Robert Ludlum Bourne series are some of my favorites. They’re the reason I’m wary people might be peeking through my windows at night, but worthy of a read.

Delaney Wilkins and Nick Harris are at odds over a deathbed promise and a mysterious find in the Tennessee forest.  Both want the same thing–title to Ladd Springs–but they’ll have to fight each other to get it AND the building attraction between them.

Now Jason is usually at odds with Carlos the Jackal and the United States government rather than a woman, his accomplice Marie was delightful as she helped him tackle his deeply troubled past in search of his true identity. I don’t remember how “close” they became, but I’m sure all those nights cavorting across the continents of Europe provided some lovely settings. :)

How about you? Did you read the Bourne series? Like Jason Bourne or do you have another favorite? I’d love to hear! As for my stop on the hop giveaway, I’m offering up for grabs a copy of book #1 in my latest series, Ladd Springs.

Delaney Wilkins finds herself at odds with hotel developer Nick Harris over a deathbed promise and a mysterious find in the Tennessee forest.  Both are after title to Ladd Springs, But Ernie Ladd, current owner of the property and uncle to Delaney, is adamantly opposed to them both.

Felicity Wilkins, Delaney’s daughter, deserves to inherit her family’s legacy, but neighbor Clem Sweeney is working against her, ingratiating himself with Ernie Ladd.  Clem is also harboring a secret that will make him a very wealthy man—unless the others stop him before he can bring it to fruition.

Complicating matters is Annie Owens.  Ex-girlfriend to Jeremiah Ladd, Ernie’s estranged son living in Atlanta, she declares her daughter Casey is Jeremiah’s, making Casey every bit as entitled to the property as Felicity—only Annie hasn’t proven this claim.  Yet.

All are fighting to get the property, but only one will walk away with the gold.  Which will it be?  Find out in the first installment of Ladd Springs…

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and you know what that means…get ready for the pinching!  Fingers on your fanny, your arm, where ever those pesky leprechauns can get you, they will.  Me?  I don’t mind a pinch now and again.  In fact, this month is the 17th anniversary of when I met my husband.  Single, minding my own business and NOT looking for love at all (at that moment ;)), there he was, in a warm cozy bar tucked away in a ski resort.  *sigh* I do enjoy spring skiing.

It’s my friend’s fault.  As any good matchmaking friend, she was trying to set me up with someone else, an effort to which I was uninterested.  As she was describing this fabulous man she knew, my husband-to-be leaned over the bar to order a beer and I pointed, “Does your friend look like him?  Because that guy right there–that one’s my type.”

It was history from there.  She sought him out, made up a story and got the two of us talking.  We’ve been married 14 years this June and it was my lucky day in March, to be sure.

To celebrate, let’s say we giveaway a copy of my upcoming release ~ You can be the first to read Ladd Springs!
